Since 2011, when it was held for the first time by the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br), the Brazilian IGF (FIB) has been consolidating itself as an essential meeting space for different actors and sectors that discuss and are part of Internet governance in Brazil. To further encourage these exchanges, the FIB Portal is launched as a multistakeholder platform open to all interested parties to exchange experiences, talk, and discuss the Internet and how it is developing.

The FIB Portal is a space dedicated to the Brazilian Internet governance community. Here, it will be possible to find documents and content linked to the Internet governance ecosystem in Portuguese, which do not necessarily refer to a specific edition of the FIB event.

Our objective is for the FIB Portal to be a space for the Brazilian Internet governance community to share knowledge, broaden perspectives, and encourage the participation of all interested parties in this constantly changing ecosystem. We expected that the FIB Portal could serve as a reference for the Brazilian Internet governance community. It will combine crucial historical content related to the FIB and centralize information about its activities in the Brazilian and international ecosystems.

Regarding this objective, it will be possible to explore the IGF Ecosystem, a network of multistakeholder and international Internet governance activities in the FIB Portal. It includes the Internet Forum in Brazil (FIB), which is the Brazilian pre-IGF, the Internet Governance Forum of Latin America and the Caribbean (from the Spanish Foro de Gobernanza de Internet de América Latina y el Caribe, LACIGF), and the Forum of Global Internet Governance (Internet Governance Forum, IGF). These are essential initiatives in promoting multistakeholder dialogue, searching for consensus, and exploring Internet development paths that balance the different interests involved.

In addition to the IGF Ecosystem, the FIB Portal includes the Youth Brazil Program (PYB), a significant CGI.br initiative to train young people in Internet governance. The list of websites from past editions of the FIB and the Principles for Internet Use and Governance (known as the Internet Decalogue) are also part of the Portal.

Like the Internet itself and its ecosystem, the FIB Portal is a proposal under construction and, therefore, will be constantly evolving and transforming. We invite everyone in the Brazilian Internet governance community to get to know the FIB Portal. Welcome!
